SO not the novel I thought I had signed up for!!!!! This is so clever, so character driven, so well done!! No wonder it was Booker shortlisted!!!!!! Full with cultures I know feel I know and real people I know this was incredible…but man it could have done with an edit there I said it
This one is a reread for bookclub novel for me.. I did remember lots and thought I had the ending but didn’t quite and that was fun! I have a train commute too and loved that whole people on the train/ people you see from the train..I can definitely see why this is a modern

I was going to start by saying I would have loved this when I was younger; being able to do over again..I would have had a ball with the endless possibilities. But I practically read this in a day so I obviously wasn’t too cynical! I did love Alfie and Gianna, I loved Alfie’s mum
Just go (read it hahaha) I’m so not the target market for this memoir but I couldn’t have gotten more out of it. What a inspiration. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought to read about a BMX rider’s quest for Olympic gold, what a super power. This would be a fabulous read
