SO not the novel I thought I had signed up for!!!!! This is so clever, so character driven, so well done!! No wonder it was Booker shortlisted!!!!!! Full with cultures I know feel I know and real people I know this was incredible…but man it could have done with an edit there I said it ✊
Refugees, immigration, clash of cultures, war..I mean it’s all here and it was ALOT but also I read this book weeks ago and am still thinking about scenes, peoples decisions, the eating of rats…I think this one is definitely brilliant, just not the lighter fluffier read I maybe wanted hahah
