This is definitely a working at a bookshop perk! I saw a reader copy of this available and I went with it! This was a YA Asian diasporaic fantasy I had no idea I wanted to read! And I devoured it!!!! Feel it coursing through my bloodstream and all!!! So different to what I normally read and all the funner for it! I actually could not put it down!! Apparently it is inspired by Vietnamese folk stories but unfortunately I haven’t had any experience of those, I was just completely there for it
