I had seen a review for Kingfisher that compared it to Heart the Lover and obviously I was there for that, but by the time my hold had come in at the library for it I had seen another person say it was like Normal People; a novel that I still think about because it just was NOT for me hahah all this to sy I went in sceptical…the opening senes are so not me but I must have only had this novel with me on the train because I did keep going and I am SO glad I did. Poetic, lyrical almost and such beautiful sentences! So literary and so different to my preferred novels ( I don’t think there was a character here I liked let alone loved) and an ornithologist I will never be..but I did love it in the end, so much left unsaid and not done…absolutely beautiful
