I adore Sophie Green novels, the female connection and friendship I find on the pages are just so comforting. The Frock Shop is my new favourite. I spent 13 years in my own coffee shop/ book shop so I love the idea of a shop being a meeting place/ if these walls could talk space; and the fact that Daphne has been working at the various shops since the beginning was just so lovely! Imagine all the clothes she’s seen! The Mosman setting was just so fun as well, it’s a suburb of Sydney i know but haven’t really ever spent time in, so it was great to get the opportunity to vicariously here! The importance of clothes is a big theme, and gosh that was lovely to see; rather than frivolous we have as armour sometimes, as a mood booster or reminder sometimes…I loved the end paper and the little short stories about how the items came to be at the frock shop so much too..all the love, just a gorgeous read
