I didn’t love this one, but gosh everyone else loves it! Maybe I just had a bad experience with coffee shop chats? I was completely there for the kindness, the listening and empathy; of course I am I love a kind novel. And I can definitely see why people would love this novel. But the pretty waitress who is lusted after, the white man saving, the fulfilling life of a woman through wifedom and motherhood…I’m not sure I really saw anyone as real, these are definitely characters in a novel and you know sun is shining, birds are chirping, flowers are blooming…
This is going to sound petty, and I can’t really articulate why I find this so annoying; I myself had a coffee shop, I would have found Theo annoying! I didn’t believe his patience even …It does take a great shot though, what a photo!
