I was SO scared to read this one!!! Look at that cover!!! I’m such a baby where horror is concerned and haunted cows! Hard no!!! But Jessica Mansour- Nahra was SO lovely when she came in to Dymocks Eastgate to autograph that I psyched right up and got my own copy..and it is a thriller, and it is triggering for reasons that have nothing to do with cattle!!!
Leila is living in a remote farm, recovering with and a partner she’s only been with for a bit, but loves and is loved by right? Omg, this is such an claustrophobic, creepy thriller. You could feel the oppression of the house and the landscape is completely haunting..I couldn’t put this down. Sensitive readers (or people who want to be mothers hahah) should check for suitablilty, some was heavy going…but it is very very good and oh my goodness; it also had the sweetest relationship between Rusty the dog and Leila, that dog love is the best..I so wasn’t expecting that in this thriller!!!!!!
