I don’t know how I missed this Barbara Kingsolver but I am so grateful to bookclub for reminding me I had it to read! I’m SO glad I made time for it and reading it in 2024 goodness; post covid, in the midst of Trump’s campaign this just gave me SO much to think about. Absolutely loved it, although it is political and I can see the criticism of telling..still a five star for me. I loved Willa and her family, I cried when she said she wanted this life, with this husband..so beautiful I loved meeting Mary Treat and loved seeing that Unsheltered in terms of the comforting stories we tell ourselves; how dangerous that is that ‘without shelter we stand in daylight..feel ourselves likely to die..but that you are standing in the daylight…also those chapters headings 👌
