A Room Made of Leaves

I would have loved this novel if it was just a novel. I could absolutely see Sydney and their home in Elizabeth Farm. I loved the writing and the character arcs and the sense of a public person with a private viewpoint…but I don’t know; is there any suggestion of a romance between Elizabeth Macarthur and Mr Dawes? Did she really write her letters knowing John was going to read them? Isn’t it unrealistic to think Elizabeth Macarthur felt she was on First Nations land? That part was completely modern thinking imposed on a historical act I thought? But I will completely read everything Kate Grenville writes, obviously, I just am glad I borrowed this copy…
