Moonlight and the Pearler’s Daughter

What a read! I have always loved pearls but have never given a thought to how dangerous and precarious pearling would be. Moonlight and the Pearlers Daughter was just so illuminating x it’s so atmospheric, I read it through the middle of winter, but I could feel the heat and “the odour of rancid pearl meat”. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough I was right beside Eliza as she deals with prejudice and corruption x can’t wait for another Lizzie Pook; what a debut
