Loved every second of this ‘nanna’s book about footy’ loved the brilliance of Helen Garner’s eye here. Such a celebration of family and that ‘my grandson and me’ relationship. It’s just beautifully done; I’ve got a page of quotes that just hit me in the feels..who hasn’t looked at a nephew and wondered if this was the same chunky child you used to carry on your hip…I can’t believe I didn’t think it would be for me because I’m not a footy fan 🤦♀️
The more I read of Helen Garner, the more I can see she absolutely is a national treasure! She makes it look easy!
