Gosh I love bookclub for the unexpected books you didn’t even know were missing from your life! I wasn’t expecting to love The Other Bennet Sister. I’ve read lots of Jane Austen enhancers and didn’t think I needed another one, but how wrong I was! I LOVED it. I love everything about it. Mary is plain, serious and musical like she is in Pride and Prejudice but we know her now. We can see why she sang at the ball, we know why she so objectionable…this is such a great colouring in of Mary Bennet. It’s also a wonderful story in its own right; we get to see what it might have been like for an unmarried women in the 1800s, we see society through her eyes, it’s definitely a stand alone book …I am so glad to have read it! Thank you bookclub!!!
