I recently got to speak with Diane Armstrong about The Wild Date Palm and so this is all so fresh in my head! What a page turner. This really was completely engrossing. ‘Moonless nights, white sheets and puffs of smoke’ this really is the ultimate story of espionage! I was so captivated by Shoshanna’s story. I could see and believe all of the characters, feel the heat from the desert and see the wild date palm. It is a hard read when considering the Israel today, but I just read it as a ww1 story. I absolutely loved it!!!
