I cannot wait for this to be a hissy fics’ pick!!! There is SO much to talk through with this novel. No spoilers here, but OMG this is why I love historical fiction!!!!
I’ve just got to sit down with a Russian ww2 sniper. I can see why she is loyal to the mother country, I can understand how she sees the German enemies as invaders, I have watched her ‘cross an ocean to bring American steel home home to help her countrymen’. The way the war just happens and she reacts, the way women are treated in a army where women are welcomed, the way USSR citizens were treated in 1940s America…I could not have loved this novel more
