Bila Yarrundhanggalang- River of Dreams

So very glad I finally got to take this one off my TBR. It was just as wonderful as I knew it would be. The lack of First Nations agency was heartbreakingly portrayed here ‘none of us have a choice…we live where the white man tells us to live’ as was the importance of miyagan (family, kin) and that eternal connection to country to Wagadhaany x I didn’t realise that the white man has stated changing for the worse the landscape of Australia so soon; that the cattle has already hardened the ground by the 1800s. it was all so beautifully done. I’m so thankful to this novel.
