Talking in Tongues

I don’t know Tom Tilley, I think I would have read it so differently if I’d have know this “careful, dorky boy..taking small steps into the unknown’ was going to grow up to be a public man. I just went along for the ride. I’m not a Christian, and I can imagine it would be a very different reading experience being one, but I loved the honesty and acceptance he describes here. I can certainly appreciate ‘the church had seemed huge’ and it’s support network all encompassing, I felt like I was with him as he built a new life for himself. I really saw the self reflection and self discovery Tom experienced and sought out through travel and meeting new people, that he is ‘still fuelled by a fiery optimism for what life could be’ So glad I read this memoir (it’s so not my usual jam)
