The Warsaw Orphan

I definitely needed processing time after I finished this novel. This is an absolutely unforgettable story. I thought I knew everything about ww2 horrors, but I’m ashamed to say I didn’t know about the Warsaw Ghetto. This is a novel that made me ashamed of my easy life in the best possible way. I saw the best of humanity within these pages, heroic bravery, resistance and human kindness. I’m not sure that I will ever look at egg shells or suitcases in the same way ever again. It’s a beautiful read, which I haven’t done justice to here…I can’t recommend it more highly enough
